i'm leaning towards celtic. whenever i see two teams playing those two schools of football, i tend to give an edge to the anglosaxons. i watched celtic at least 20 times this year, in both uefa and scotish league, and i like their poise. but porto is porto, traditionally good team in european cups.

but porto haven't played a lot of meaningfull games lately, while celtic is in full competitive mode, both in national championship and in europe.

Celtic hasn't won anything in the last couple of years.
They will play with everything they got and they also will have a bunch of fans, giving them that extra 12th player.
But Porto is known for playing hard and will not hold back anything to get the ball or player.

i like the idea of a low scoring final, Celtic's last uefa game against Boavista was very boring, neither sides have any scoring edge. However, both teams are capable of playing fairly good defence, i see a goal either way, Under is very likely, especially for a final. It's time to do some shoppings. Alex, do you know any bookies open plates on O/U in London?

"Celtic hasn't won anything in the last couple of years"............

Celtic won the Scottish League last year...??

If you are refering to European competition, they haven't won anything for over 30 years.

Deecra- The Scottish Premier League Title isn't worth mentioning. I could go to the park down the street and find 11 players to finish 3rd in that shitty league. Celtic and Rangers need to join the English Premier League.

This UEFA Cup is a tough match-up. I don't trust Celtic to score against good teams and I think Porto injuries and suspensions at the forward position will make it tough for them to score. I think this may be played just like the Celtic-Boavista match. Scary thought.

Celtic-Boavista under 2 1/2

I'm the last person to suggest the Scottish Premier League is of any merit,
I was just pointing out the inacurate nature of the prior statement.

As a true Englishman I can only wish Celtic the very worst of luck on Wednesday.

re the game itself,

if the weather is as predicted in the 90'sF (32c approx) Celtic will have a tough time,
they rely on high tempo football and in my view are ill equipped to take on a quality side like Porto in such conditions.
